Wellingtons premiere DnB crew, Bass Frontiers, are saying goodbye for 2009 with a huge gig to celebrate their 10th year ending and the festive season. The BF guys have dragged out The Upbeats to play their final NZ show before the huge Phat10 new years eve party.
Make sure you check out their recent mix on Dogs on Acid, which gives a solid slice of their recent album.

The Upbeats are playing at the Bass Frontiers Xmas Special alongside DDog, JMC, Import and the Frederick Crew @ Sandwiches on Saturday the 12th of December

Evolution is a two day music Festival celebrating the remarkable talents of some of New Zealand's most established and promising music producers. Coupled with a serene natural landscape and a fully fitted outdoor audio-visual production the Evolution experience has been long overdue - but the wait is now over!

With 25 dj's from all over NZ you'll get to sample nothing but the highest quality tunes from the worlds of drum and bass, dubstep, hip hop and the experimental inbetween. Leaving no sense untouched visual stimuli will be presented by two of Auckland's finest visual technicians over the two days.

We encourage you to bring sunscreen, all-weather clothing and a tent to set up camp so that you can fully enjoy the Evolution experience!

Phatclub have announced their Taster Series for the year of 2008 as a leadup to their superb New Years Eve festival, Phat 08/09 Outdoors. Of course, Phatclub have bought some heavy weight acts along for this as usual, in the guise of Spor, Stanton Warriors and huge NZ act, The Upbeats. This week The Upbeats second album, "Nobody's Out There", dropped around New Zealand stores, and at the end of the week the boys are doing two live shows in Wellington and Christchurch to promote it. I had a quick chat with Jeremy Glenn (one half of the duo, the other being Dylan Jones), about the album, the live act and whats to come....

Well, personally seems kinda odd that it took a Dutch label to come out with an EP named 'The New Zealand' EP, but I guess Abel Tasman was dutch and he discovered us, so the link is there....somewhere.
